“factives” (role playing a real person and pretending they are your real identity) are so fucked up on so many levels. I find otherkins and fictives (and other roleplayers of that ilk) mostly humorous. It’s transparently fake. So long as they don’t attempt to gain legally recognized status or piggy-back on real social issues, they just don’t affect anything.

But factives, my god? Particularly factives of a real, live, currently existing person.

I know this is a silly thought experiment, because you and I probably aren’t famous enough to be targeted, and we likely haven’t acted in the current circle jerk that is the fan favorite film of the month, but think for a second what it would be like to have this faceless internet child not only fanatically obsess over you, but you claim to BE you, then demanding “respect” for that stolen (and probably poorly constructed) identity.

I imagine it would be irksome like having someone say “I know what you’re going though” patronizingly, but taken to 10000x the creepy, rude, freakish level.

Let me make sure I’ve laid down this line: I’m not going to respect an identity you’ve stolen from someone else. Matter of fact, I’m going to go out of my way to disrespect you little shitstains.
